What do we expect from a young-adult novel about fashion things?
As for me, my expectations are not too excessive. Light stories as a distraction in my spare time when my mind is saturated.
But the author, Lisa Barham, was able to create many expectations for the main character, Imogene.
Imogene was a character that was built from the reality of a typical teenager. Where she was still unstable and looking for her own identity in life. She's witty, self centered, and not rich, with a good sense of fashion and a best friend. Then come the problems, which for me is still a complicated thing for a teenager to handle. She faces it with her never-give-up attitude, or maybe we call it stubbornness, and it works for her.
A famous brand, exciting fashion works to do, and a prestigious fashion event make the whole story fascinating. That's what we want in our life but can't have it. By reading this book, I can imagine how amazing it is to be such a person with a life we yearn for.
The cover is ultra-cute if we want to display it on our bookshelf or maybe as a fashion accessory to carry everywhere.
