Monthly Books Review : Cassandra Clare - The Mortal Instruments Series

Yuhuuuu, I'm back! after a little busy week and assignment. Today I'm gonna review some good books I was recently finished. After watched TMI - City of Bones movie last year, I start to read the books, kinda late but it's better late than never ;)

Synopsis for City of Bones (from Goodreads):

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder — much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing — not even a smear of blood — to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .
I'm in love with the stories, all the character and the twist. After the first book "City of Bones", I can't wait too read the second book, and i can't stop until the last book, yes the sixth book came out this year and I'm happy but also sad to say goodbye with this series.
The world that Cassandra Clare made is absolutely complicated but in a modest way. How fun it is to be a shadowhunter? I keep imagining my self being one of them and making runes on my skin, eventhough I hate demon. All the character isn't boring and it's fascinating to know that you actually not only liking the good guy but also the bad guy (oh yeah for Jace and Sebastian), Clary as the main character is a little bit self-centered but also brave enough as a first time shadowhunter.
If you like paranormal creatures stories like vampires, werewolfes, faeries, warlock, etc, you probably love this series, because everything is there. Honestly i'm not into vampires things as they drinking blood (and blood making me dizzy) and they are not as good looking like the Twilight vampires I imagine it will be. But, it's read-able, even I cried when one of the vampire character die to save other character! Oh God it's devastating, *keep reminding my self it just a stories*

So have you read this series? love it as much as I did?
