Minty Stripes

I re-watched Confession of A Shopaholic last night. Such a brilliant performance by Isla Fisher and Hugh Dancy. I like how light the humor, but with a memorable moral advice in it. We can learn a lot from Isla's character Rebecca Bloomwood.

I think in our society right now, everything was about the lavish name or brand tag that matters rather than how we incorporate our things into a meaningful platform. As a blogger, I saw a direction on how the mainstream successful blogger tends towards to. Of course they would wear the trendiest brand on the market. Especially with a very high price and demand it as an "It" trend, the more you walk into that path, the more elite you are.

Then there is the "Haul" culture that would feed us with happiness, whether we could afford it or not. I'll admit how satisfying it is to watch all the haul vlog on YouTube while I was broke and no money at all. I'm not denying the taste of the current culture that shape us all. As a consumer, I think we need to have a common sense above it all. The sense of being okay to be not having it at all.

It's okay if you can't afford the things that the other blogger have. It's okay to not be trendy, or not having any major brand label on your wardrobe. It's okay if you like to buy things from the thrift store. It would be nice if you could be wiser on your spending. Being more relatable doesn't undermine you into an outside corner.

It's such a great experience when I'm visiting other blogger who recreate their outfit again and again. Being creative doesn't mean you need to do the haul post on your blog every months or so. 😉
