The Summer I Turned Pretty Style Inspiration

      If you enjoy reading young adult fiction or are a bookish, you probably already know some of Jenny Han's works, including To All the Boys I've Loved Before, Burn for Burn, and of course The Summer I Turned Pretty. Unexpectedly, the last one has been turned into a television series and is available to watch on Amazon Prime. I have no doubt that The Summer I Turned Pretty would be a popular television series after the Netflix success of the To All The Boys movies. With eye candy cast, great story telling from Jenny Han that served as the script writer herself, and the cinematic summer in the Cousins beach, it's the perfect series you should watch for of course, the summer.

     The Summer I Turned Pretty's main character is Isabel Conklin, also known as Belly. She was portrayed by Lola Tung, who in my opinion perfectly captured the character of Belly. Belly depicted as a cheerful teenager, a bit tomboyish, but then trying to find her feminine side throughout the series while she experience love triangle between Conrad Fisher and Jeremiah Fisher. Inspired by her journey in Cousins Beach, here is my outfit styling inspiration from Belly, hopefully could inspire you for the upcoming summer season. 

      Belly frequently wore gingham prints due to her debutante schedule and the Fourth of July event at Cousins Beach. The pink gingham little dress would be ideal for any semiformal event, such as a wedding or ladies brunch, as well as tea time in a fancy cafe. It would also look great with a fascinator and lacy glove. I enjoy accessorizing with pearls and pastel blue shoes to complete the look.

      Belly was celebrating her birthday at Cousins Beach while dressed in a floral romper that hugged her figure like a charm. I was able to find the ideal floral mini dress from Bershka, which will go great with a casual rope sandal and some cute bead accessories like Belly has in the series.

      As the series located in a beach area, I think we shouldn't forget the crochet. Belly casually wear the crochet top with a jeans and sandals. I like to match the crochet top with a short denim, and a lace up sandals. Don't forget the beaded accessories, some sunglasses, and a baseball cap if you want to play on the beach or just playing around the poolside.
